my very first post for menemac :D

Through the years, I have gained skills in writing. From stories to poems, even to plays. I also have myspace, facebook, and twitter, in which  I can write about myself for my friends to see. I have a lot of writing goals, but I will only name a few. My first goal is to engage my use of words. I want to have a stronger vocabulary. I want to learn different ways to express a sentence. I want the public readers to be in awe when they read my work. Well, that's all for now...BYE ^_^

  1. Hi Isabelle,

Great goals for the year! The two traits you are targeting are word choice and sentence fluency…and awe, well that covers all the traits!

Here are my comments on your writing pre-assessment: You have many details about your last day at St. Theresa’s, and I see by your self-assessment that you were not finished with the essay. I think it would be strengthened by a tighter focus. That way, you wouldn’t need to include every single detail of the day and would, instead, select and develop the details that supported your focus. For example, if you are emphasizing the changes you are facing, then, you would include the details about getting ready, putting aside the uniform, etc. As you describe graduation, you would select the details that highlight the change. If, however, you were focusing on friendships and the passing of a stage, then you might not say much at all about your prep for the day and instead start with school and your interaction with your friends.

For your idea bank: You’ve connected a lot of emotions to the various situations. The bank itself would be more useful, though, if you can include more details about the situation, people involved, setting, actions, etc.
